The Saeys lab aims to communicate its scientific activities to the broad public. In particular, we put a lot of effort into teaching the broad public what can be done with intelligent computer systems when applied to biomedical data. Our lab participates in several activities that bring science to the public:

  • We participate in “Wetenschap op Stap (Science on the move)”, where several of our team members go to primary schools and explain children between 8 and 12 years about what we do in the lab. [Embed a movie here]

  • WeGoStem [link to a page about this initiative and to the movie featuring Sofie Van Gassen]

  • We participate in “Biotechnology day (Dag van de Biotechnologie)” where we explain to the broad public how bioinformatics is used to analyze biomedical data.
